Over the years we have had problems getting silk nightwear and silk bed linen, which was the only thing that could help Anette get a proper painless night's sleep.

Anette has had back surgery 3 times and is in a lot of pain. It was painful to turn in bed and the night's sleep was constantly interrupted. We were looking for silk, at reasonable prices but the selection was very small and that was the start up of our online shop.

Here at Silky-Dream, you always have a large selection of silk products for the whole family. We have direct import of silk. We purchase the silk products through our Chinese agent and we produce many of our silk products from various foreign manufacturers and can therefore offer you a versatile and unique selection of silk products. We work directly with manufacturers and can therefore offer you a versatile and unique variety of silk products at incredibly low prices because the many middlemen are cut off.

This is how it makes sense for us to run our business because we want to offer unique, quality products and high service to our customers.

Our silk!

Our silk products come from China, India, Japan, Cambodia and Nepal. We want to help third countries boost exports so that they have a livelihood. In countries like Cambodia and Nepal, 70% of the population do not know how to get food the next day.

Our silk products produced in either Nepal or Cambodia is made of many small workshops. A product can be sewn in several different places and is therefore unique. The products are hand-knitted and hand-woven and many of the silk products have decorations that are embroidered by hand.Therefore, no two products are alike from these suppliers.

At Silky-Dream, we always ensure that our silk products come from suppliers with proper conditions and that there is no child labor.

Momme? What is it?
I wondered too, when I first delved into the world of silk and silk pajamas and silk bedding. I have always thought that the best way to judge the quality of silk fabric was to look at their thread count. The more threads, the better the pajamas, which makes sense because the number of threads measures how many threads are on every inch of the material, so a high thread count means a better quality of fabric that will hold up to repeated washing. When I first read that momme weight should be included in the considerations, I was confused because I had no idea what it was and why it was important.
Momme weight is a standard way to measure the weight of silk and a common way to measure pearls. Momme is pronounced like the word "mommy".
For silk pajamas, a momme weight of 12-16 is considered good quality, silk pajamas in the range 19-25 mm are of very high quality. Much lower than 12 will result in pajamas that are not as durable due to the silk being very thin.
Silk pajamas are typically sewn in 16-19 Momme Momme weight usually shown as "mm".
